Steps to apply to the Board of Real Estate to take the Salesperson Exam:
- Complete the class and receive your certificate of completion from a Board approved Real Estate School.
- Be 18 years or older.
- The state requires that you give them permission to run a crimal background check. You need to have the CORI notarized.
- Have 3 people fill out Personal Character Reference Form. (Print 3 copies. The person cannot be related to you or live with you.)
- Have a current head shot picture. Do not copy your drivers license photo. The picture can be a good selfie.
- Create an account on eLipse. Fill out the application and upload all the above documents.
Steps to apply to the Board of Real Estate to take the Broker Exam:
- Complete the class and receive your certificate of completion from a Board approved Real Estate School.
- Be 18 years or older.
- Have an active Massachusetts Real Estate License.
- The state requires that you give them permission to run a crimal background check. You need to have the CORI notarized.
- Have 3 people fill out Personal Character Reference Form. (Print 3 copies. The person cannot be related to you or live with you.)
- Have at least 3 years of experience working for an active Massachusetts broker (at a minimum of 25 hours per week). Please complete the Employing Broker Certification Form.
- Have a notarized $5,000 surety bond completed and signed by an insurance agent and the principal candidate/examinee. (Must be an original. Cannot upload a copy)
- Have a current head shot picture. Do not copy your drivers license photo. The picture can be a good selfie.
- Create an account on eLipse. Fill out the application and upload the Certificate of Completion, CORI, 3 Personal Character References, Employing Broker Certificate(s), Surety Bond, and picture.
