Steps to apply to the Board of Real Estate to take the Salesperson Exam:

  1. Complete the class and receive your certificate of completion from a Board approved Real Estate School.
  2. Be 18 years or older.
  3. The state requires that you give them permission to run a crimal background check.  You need to have the CORI notarized.
  4. Have 3 people fill out Personal Character Reference Form. (Print 3 copies. The person cannot be related to you or live with you.)
  5. Have a current head shot picture.  Do not copy your drivers license photo.  The picture can be a good selfie.
  6. Create an account on eLipse.  Fill out the application and upload all the above documents.

Steps to apply to the Board of Real Estate to take the Broker Exam:

  1. Complete the class and receive your certificate of completion from a Board approved Real Estate School.
  2. Be 18 years or older.
  3. Have an active Massachusetts Real Estate License.
  4. The state requires that you give them permission to run a crimal background check.  You need to have the CORI notarized.
  5. Have 3 people fill out Personal Character Reference Form. (Print 3 copies. The person cannot be related to you or live with you.)
  6. Have at least 3 years of experience working for an active Massachusetts broker (at a minimum of 25 hours per week). Please complete the Employing Broker Certification Form.
  7. Have a notarized $5,000 surety bond completed and signed by an insurance agent and the principal candidate/examinee. (Must be an original. Cannot upload a copy)
  8. Have a current head shot picture.  Do not copy your drivers license photo.  The picture can be a good selfie.
  9. Create an account on eLipse.  Fill out the application and upload the Certificate of Completion, CORI, 3 Personal Character References, Employing Broker Certificate(s), Surety Bond, and picture.
